Planning

This was my first attempt on cut out studio. there are a few blurred lines, which isn't acceptable if I want my magazine to look completely professional.
These were my trails on what masthead to use. I thought the title block was effective, but I wasn't sure what colour I wanted to use behind. I wanted to use a colour block to make my title more effective and recognisable with my audience. such as NME with it's red masthead.
This is my friend Tulla who I used as a model.  We did a whole range of different images. We even tried a range of outfits to try and fit into the codes and conventions of an alternative magazine. We even used a range of different lighting. Ill upload a few of the shots I considered for the final piece. The unedited version.
Heres an example of an unedited photo and how I played around with the lights. We used a neon stick to create blanks of light which I thought was an interesting concept.
There were photos that worked well, and photos that weren't so well. They were not prepared for a pose in this one. But its all about taking too much photos so you have more choice.

I even did a range of locations. Not all made it into my final product. But I did try out a range and figured out that my studio shots worked a lot better to look professional.
I also tried a range of different shots. Medium and Long shots I found worked the best.

There was also a process of editing. I cut my models out to place them onto the front page. I achieved this by using serif cut out. Then began a process of trial and error with pasting on different fonts and masthead designs to create a final piece.
